WHEN DO I SAVE SOMEONE'S LIFE?

Not everyone who registers will be called so don't worry if it doesn't happen for you. By registering, you may receive a call within a few weeks, or you may receive one in a few years.

You could be called any time up to the age of 60. By signing up, you're making sure that the hospital knows that you are wiling and able to help. If you are called the doctors will explain the donation procedure to you again, and begin arranging for you to be a life saver.

HOW CAN I REGISTER TO BE A LIFESAVER?

Registration is quick and simple.

Click here if you are between the ages of 16 - 30 but be sure to first read the medical exclusion criteria.

Click here if you are between the ages of 31 - 55 but be sure to first read the eligibility criteria.

Superheroes come in all shapes and sizes! But your health is important to us, so please read the medical questions  carefully, and then click the above links to order a registration pack today.

The registration pack needs you to fill out your details; swab cotton buds on the side of your mouth, and send it back in the prepaid envelope. You'll then get a donor registration card and a thank you for registering in the post a few weeks later. See? Easy!

And you're set - you are officially registered to save someone's life!

WHAT HAPPENS IF I'M A MATCH?

You'll get a call from a doctor explaining that there is a patient who needs a donation, and that you are the best donor for them. They'll also repeat the information in the video below about what happens next (courtesy of Anthony Nolan and DKMS!).

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Once you complete the procedures your donation will be shipped to the patient to be used in their procedure. They will take a long time to recover from it so will need rest and recuperation. After that, they will begin their journey back into a normal life.

And you can usually return to yours within a couple of days from donating, knowing that the patient wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for you.
